چکیده

Accurate soil thermal conductivity (?) measurements are needed in experimental agri-environmental research. This study design and build of new heat-pulse probe (HPP) based on transient state technology to measure ?. The HPP consists three main components: an electronic control system, a measurement chamber, sample rings. performance the for in-situ ? is compared estimates from measurable physical properties (pedotransfer function). Tests were conducted clay loam soils at depths. by affected tillage practice, fertilizer treatment, depth, type. No significant differences pedotransfer function found between practices. There positive correlations their values depths: R2 = 0.92 0–5 cm 0.88 both 5–10 10–15 standard deviation 0.061, 0.077, 0.080 W·m?1·K?1 0–5, 5–10, depths, respectively. In contrast, had deviations 0.085, 0.660, 0.083 W·m?1·K?1, It was that conventional increases temperature flow no-tillage because decreasing bulk density (?b) consequently higher porosity. proposed low-cost energy-efficient device, with wide applicability under range conditions. highly recommended measuring soils; however, more research determine its value other types.

Pulse accumulation, radial heat conduction, and anisotropic thermal conductivity in pump-probe transient thermoreflectance.

The relationship between pulse accumulation and radial heat conduction in pump-probe transient thermoreflectance (TTR) is explored. The results illustrate how pulse accumulation allows TTR to probe two thermal length scales simultaneously. In addition, the conditions under which radial transport effects are important are described. An analytical solution for anisotropic heat flow in layered str...

Tillage and soil quality Tillage practices for sustainable agriculture and environmental quality in different agroecosystems

For centuries tillage has been used to prepare suitable seedbed to grow crops, and to control weeds and incorporate fertilizers, pesticides, manures and other amendments. In early years conversion of native ecosystems by tillage helped to unlock nutrients stored in soil organic matter, and thus `mine' naturally fertile soils to grow crops with minimum inputs for the growing population. However,...

Impacts of different tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yield under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions

Effects of six tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yields were evaluated for a clay soil (Typic Haploxererts) under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions in a three year study (2006-2009). The experiment was designed as a completely randomized-block with three replications. Treatments were: conventional tillage with residue incorporated (CT1), conventional tillage wi...
